CHARLIE CHAN:
Charlie Chan's Chinese Proverbs, American Radio Features Syndicate (1935)
In 1935, as a promotional item for the upcoming Charlie Chan
radio program (evidently "commencing Sept. 30" of that year and airing every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evening), American
Radio Features Syndicate issued a 16-pace booklet containing 60 "Chinese Proverbs." Although, with one or two exceptions, none
of these sayings originated from the Charlie Chan movies or the stories by Earl Derr Biggers, they offered readers tidbits
of wisdom, most of which were worthy of the great Oriental detective!
